Jon Avila says he's not courting Rufa Mae Quinto

Written on 4:04 PM by Blogtopia

"Pero, totoo yun, that I had a crush on P-chi the first time I saw her on TV.

"Grabe kasi ang bonding namin for that movie. Si P-chi, laging nagpapatawag ng nighout after shooting, kapag maaga kaming natatapos.

"Masaya ang bonding namin doon, with Raf [Rafael Rosell] and the others. P-chi is such a cool producer. Hindi ko nga naramdaman na trabaho yung ginawa namin," kuwento pa ng half-British hunk.

RELATING WITH RUFA MAE.

"Nagkausap kami ni P-chi about her ex-BF," pagtatapat ni Jon. "Alam ko kasing mahirap yung long-distance relationship nila. Nakaka-relate ako roon.

"Naranasan ko na rin yun, pero I can feel, she's also happy with her relationship kay Bobby. Pero, mahirap. Kaya sa ganoon, lagi kaming nag-uusap ni P-chi. We always  have a lot of things to talk about.

"Nasasabi nga niya sa amin na talagang wala na siyang time. Masyado siyang busy. Dumarating siya sa set, sluggish ang feeling niya, lagi siyang puyat.

"Napakasipag din kasi niya. Kaya kahit hindi long-distance relationship siguro, baka hindi niya masyadong maasikaso ang love life niya," nasabi na lang ng binata.

Pareho rin daw kay Bobby yun, na wala ring oras para kay P-chi.

"For the record, I'm not courting P-chi," sabi pa ni Jon. We're friends. Click kami when we're together.

"As of now, we're good friends. I just want to take this slowly. Let's just see what will happen," dugtong niya.

CAREER-ORIENTED. Pareho rin silang career-oriented ni P-chi, lalo na siya na kailangang tutukan niya ang career dahil hindi pa siya established as an actor.

Mapapanood muna si Jon sa Metro Manila Film Festival entry na One Night Only para sa OctoArts Films; and among the guys sa cast ng Single, si Jon ang may pinakamalaking role as the leading man of Rufa Mae.

"Sa December 3, mag-uumpisa na kami ng taping for Sanlakas, the all-star cast tele-fantasya kung saan pagsasama-samahin sina Kapitan Boom, Varga, Kapitan Inggo, Tiny Tony and the others na creations ni Mars Ravelo.

"It's another good break for me after I played the role of Kapitan Boom, di ba?"

"She's fun to be with. Ang lakas ng energy niya," sabi ni Jon sa PEP about Valerie, sa set ng November 20 taping ng Banana Split.

Posible bang magkagusto siya sa isang babae na may anak na, pero hindi naman kasal?

"Yeah! Okey naman," sagot agad ni Jon.

So, posibleng magkagusto siya kay Valerie na may isang anak na?

"Posible! Maganda naman siya at mabait pa. Pero sa ngayon we're just friends. Tingnan na lang natin what will happen next or in the future."

INTERESTED ON KC.

"Pumunta siya doon to check on her mom. ‘Tapos ‘ayun nag-meet kami. Mukhang mabait siya ‘tapos gusto ko ang talking voice niya, ang cute."

Kinuha ba niya ang cell phone number ni KC?

"Ah, hindi," sagot niya. Pero may balak din daw si Jon na kunin ang number ni KC ‘pag nagkita sila ulit nito.

Noon ang sabi ni Jon ay si Maja Salvador ang crush niya at gusto niya itong ligawan. Anong nangyari at mukhang hindi niya na type ang dalaga at si KC na nga ang gusto niya?

"Sweet si Maja but she's too young for me," sagot ni Jon.

ALLAN K'S CRUSH.

"Talaga? Ako ang pinakagusto niya? Thank you!

"Nung birthday ko, may concert ako sa Zirkoh. And I'm very grateful that he guested in my concert," kuwento pa ni Jon.

Jon to wear the Kapitan Boom costume again?

Written on 1:35 PM by Blogtopia

Still fresh from the success of the previous installment of Komiks Presents: Mars Ravelo’s Kapitan Boom, Filipino-Irish model/actor Jon Avila is keeping his fingers crossed to get the chance to wear the tight-fitting red superhero costume again.

“I enjoyed doing the show, I loved watching it myself,” Jon began. “I enjoyed it not just because I know the cast, but because I love the character. I thought as though it was my first and last show. I gave it my all. ”

When ABS-CBN.COM asked the actor during the farewell party of Kapitan Boom, if there will be a possibility for a second season, he said: “Sana. It’s a really nice show. I am sure many people would wanna see Kapitan Boom again either on TV or movie house.”

But in a previous one-on-one interview, Jon said that he “will be wearing the costume again” in the future, but refusing to give more details. This raised speculations if there would indeed be a part two for Kapitan Boom. Meanwhile, Rondell Lindayag, creative head of Komiks Presents, revealed that they entertained the idea of extending Kapitan Boom, whose last episode aired last Saturday, August 2. “Actually, inisip na naming habaan ang istorya ng Kapitan Boom,” he shared. “Pero masasagasaan na ang ibang storya.”

Komiks Presents have attained the rights to five superhero characters of Mars Ravelo, including Kapitan Boom and Varga. “Alam naman natin na ang superheroes stories maliit lang talaga ang ginagalawan ng kuwento nila eh,” Randel explained. “Iniiklian namin para naman iba-iba ang makita niyong kuwento.”

Meanwhile, after his feat as a superhero, Jon is soon to start shooting for a film together with Rufa Mae Quinto under Viva Films.

Jon Avila denies courting Nikki Gil

Coverboys hottie Jon Avila, who just recently came back from a well-deserved week-long vacation in the U.K where he also attended his sisters wedding, is ready to set the record straight between him and Nikki Gil. The Bench underwear model finally talks about the incident that happened during last month’s Star Magic Ball where Jon was seen escorting Nikki throughout the event and her rumored ex-flame Geoff Eigenmann was reportedly miffed at the outing. “I arrived at the event alone. I really had no date that night. Nikki also came by herself so they just paired us to walk down the red carpet together. I just wanted to be a good escort, so I gave her company before the program started. She was the host so it’s not like it was a date or anything,” Jon explains.

Sources say that Geoff was surprised when he saw them together because it was the first time Nikki was seen in public with another guy. “Me and Nikki are going on a U.S tour along with the other Coverboys next month, so I thought spending time with her at the Ball would be a good opportunity to get to know her more. The other Coverboys are more familiar to her, so I just wanted to be friendlier so that we’ll be more comfortable with each other when we do our shows,” Jon adds.

Although Jon doesn’t deny his attraction for pretty morenas, Jon is quick to say he has no plans of courting Nikki now or in the future. “I don’t know why I keep getting myself into situations like this, just like what happened before. I would never want to hurt anybody’s feelings or be misinterpreted like that because I’m not that kind of guy,” he shares. When he found out about Geoff’s reaction, Jon quickly sought out the actor to clear things out and apologize, despite the fact that people around him were discouraging him from doing so. “They were telling me that I don’t need to apologize since I wasn’t doing anything wrong. But I don’t like to make anybody feel like that. I know what it’s like to be hurt like that and it makes me feel bad knowing I was part of the cause. I was really sorry it made him feel that way and it bothered me to know that,” he confesses.

Jon Avila talks about what's next for him after "Kapitan Boom" and his love life

"Sabay kong ginagawa, both for Direk Joey Reyes. The one is for Viva, with Rufa Mae Quinto, entitled Civil Status: Single, and the other is for OctoArts, One Night Only, which the story, happened in just one day. It's kind of a fast-paced movie," sabi pa ni Jon.

AFTER KAPITAN BOOM.

"It's going to be a surprise, but for sure, matutuwa ang mga tao, bata o matanda," nangingiting sabi pa ni Jon.

"I consider everything a blessing. Hindi ko naman na-plan ang mga bagay na ito. Experiencing everything so fast is overwhelming for me.

"Sa London kasi, roon ako lumaki, and I'm not used to get a lot of attention," kuwento pa ng binata.

"It's a nice feeling, just to know na kahit paano, I can inspire people. I know the responsibility when people already look up to you," dugtong pa ni Jon.

Jon Avila thinks Nikki Gil is girlfriend material

Still on a high after his well-attended birthday concert last weekend at Zirkoh bar along Timog, Jon Avila admits that it feels good to be celebrating his natal day. “That was a success. It was a great gift for me. I’ve never experienced a birthday like that. It’s the best birthday I’ve ever had. There was lots of fun songs and dancing,” he shares.

The actor, who has been in showbiz barely a year, is thankful for the blessings he has had after exiting the Pinoy Big Brother house. “I’ve had a good year. I’m looking forward to spending more time learning and being with friends. And it’s just really great being in this industry. It’s a great life for me. I’m really enjoying it. It’s a dream come true,” he says happily.

The Coverboys hunk also had a grand time with his series of shows in the States with the group and Nikki Gil. “It was very successful. Hindi ko na-feel na trabaho yun. I didn’t feel like I was working, parang vacation lang. Tapos nag-bonding kami lahat. It was fun. We got to visit three states. San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago. I also got to spend a day with my aunties and uncles in LA. Sobrang masaya,” he recalls.

Jon explains that he and fellow Coverboys Zanjoe Marudo, Jake Cuenca, Will Devaughn, and Victor Basa got to hang out with Nikki since they all opted to stay at the hotel instead of going out at night. “We all got to know each other kasi we didn’t go out for gimmick. We had bonding moments,” he states.

Despite being open about his attraction to Nikki, the Kapitan Boom star decided to strictly be platonic with her while in the US. “Mabait talaga si Nikki eh. I wouldn’t mind spending more time with her. But I’m torpe eh,” he admits. But when ABS-CBN.com caught up with him during the Metrowear Gala Randy Ortiz fashion show at the Edsa Shangri-la Hotel last September 4, the Fil-Irish hunk couldn’t help but make an admission about his feelings for her. “The thing is with Nikki is that she’s girlfriend material. I’m the kind of guy na if I get involved with someone, I’m going to give her 100 percent. I’ m going to give too much into a relationship. That’s the kind of person I am eh. So I don’t want to be distracting. Not that she’s a distraction, but I’m sure I would give her all my time rather than my work. I’m just starting pa lang so it’s not the right time for me to get into a relationship,” he shares. But the model-actor is quick to say that he hasn’t closed the possibility of courting Nikki in the future when his career is more stable. “I wanna date someone who’s ready for me,” he concludes.

The self-confessed shy guy also clarifies the misconception that he’s too quiet to ask a girl out. “I’m not the quiet type. Siguro shy lang. I don’t know why really kasi I’ve always been a shy guy. When I’m with girls I tend to be quiet. I don’t want to say anything that they won’t like,” he adds.

Jon is busy with four upcoming movie projects as well as being one of the new hosts of Shall We Dance, along with fellow Coverboy Victor Basa and Lucy Torres-Gomez on TV5. Jon also admits that he has also become more comfortable now with the showbiz scene. “I’m getting the feel of it na. I’m learning a lot. I’m learning how to control my acting when it comes to timing and stuff like that. Sa birthday concert ko, I had to rehearse three dances and then also rehearse dances for ASAP the next day and then one more dance for Wowowee the day after that so I’m really brushing up on my dancing skills right now. So I’m learning a lot of dancing,” he says.

The model is so busy that he hasn’t had much time to work out, but keeping fit is still a priority for him. “I go to Gold’s Gym in Makati. I have a personal trainer. I don’t really diet nowadays. I just try to head out to the gym as much as I can. So I can eat what I want. I had like seven birthday cakes so I’ve been eating cake all week!” he exclaims.

The Coverboys hunk is all set to conquer the stage on his own as he celebrates his 26th birthday this August 30 at Zirkoh Timog. “I really love to dance,” Jon began. “But I love singing more.” The Fil-Irish model admits these are some of his hidden talents that he hopes to explore more. In fact, Jon enjoyed performing on stage in the Coverboy’s concert tour in the US with Nikki. “It was more of fun, not work. I’m really happy with the show’s outcome,” he shared.

He also mentioned that his favorite number was Hypnotize which he did with Victor Basa. “We got off the stage and got some girls to join us. We did a little sexy dance for them,” he said with a laugh. So would the crowd see more of this “sexy dance” during his birthday show? “Oh definitely,” Jon said enthusiastically.

Joining Jon on his Boombastic Birthday Party are tons of his friends from Star Magic including Thou Reyes, Princess Ryan, Ron Morales, John James Uy, Marvin Raymundo, Maja Salvador, Jay-R Siaboc and people from his Bench and Calayan Surgicentre family. Jon said he’s psyched about seeing all of them plus a few other special guests. Could one of these surprises include Nikki Gil, whom he’s rumored to be getting close to? “Oh, Nikki and I have gotten to know each other during the Coverboys’ show in the US because she’s our guest there.

You can say we’re getting to know each other,” he only answered. Isn’t he curious to know if Nikki’s co-host Billy Crawford is really courting her? “I think they’re close. They are good friends and they work together. I don’t know what to say really. I mean in the end it’s Nikki who knows what she wants,” he ended.

Maja Salvador is Not Closing Her Door to Jon Avila

During the farewell press conference of Kapitan Boom last Monday, July 28, the press couldn’t help but notice Maja Salvador’s pretty glow. However, the actress quickly denied that a “special someone” was responsible for her radiant appearance. “Sawi pa rin po [ako],” she admitted with a laugh.

Her co-stars Jon Avila and Jay-R Siaboc who are being romantically linked to her are not the reason behind her glowing aura as well. “Alam naman natin na si Jay-R masaya,” said Maja, referring to Jay-R’s relationship with long-time girlfriend Irish Fullerton. But will Kapitan Boom mean the end of her hilarious tandem with Jay-R? “Mami-miss kong talakan si Jay-R kasi para kaming aso’t pusa. Siyempre po [pati na rin] yung cast dito kasi parang sobrang family na yung turingan namin. Kapag hindi kami nagte-take, kwentuhan, tawanan… Ganun,” the young actress enthused.

As for Jon, Maja is fully aware that some people are misunderstanding their closeness on the set. “Sa totoong buhay wala naman po talagang ligawan. Yung lumalabas na issue na kami daw, wala po talaga yun.” She further stressed her point, “Mahilig kasi siyang magbasa ng diyaro. So next taping day po namin uupo siya sa tabi ko tapos pag-uusapan namin kung anong lumabas sa diyaryo. Tapos sasabihin niya, 'Uy Maj sorry ha. Nabasa mo ba yung ganito sa diyaryo? Sabi nililigawan daw kita. Sorry ha.’ Ganun.” Maja added that they would simply laugh over the rumors.

When prodded about Jon’s “attraction” to her, Maja comically exclaimed to him, “Wow! Crush ka diyan! Sapukin kita eh!” Seriously though, she’s not closing her doors if Jon intends to pursue her for real. “Tignan po natin kung manliligaw nga po. Kasi depende po yun sa pagpupursige ng mga lalake. Depende po yan sa ipapakita.” But it seems that Jon has a good chance in light of Maja’s revelation that she was a Coverboys fan. “Nanood po ako ng Coverboys. Sinuportahan ko po sila. Okay naman po,” she shyly gushed.

But what about Geoff Eigenmann who escorted her down the red carpet during the Star Magic Ball last June 29? “Last year magkasama na rin kami [umattend ng Star Magic ball] kaya lang with a group kami. Pero this year, since may gagawin kami [na project] soon [kami ang magka-partner).” However, Maja refrained from giving details of the project so as not to jinx the plans for their team-up. “Surprise muna. Kailangang itago muna para hindi maudlot.”

In the meantime, Maja disclosed that an upcoming TV project is the one thing which is keeping her happy these days. “Siguro masaya lang po talaga ako kasi hindi ako pinapabayaan ng ABS-CBN. May mga projects talaga na magagandang binibigay po sa akin so sinusuklian ko lang. Siyempre kapag maraming projects kailangang magpaganda ‘di ba?” Then she hesitantly revealed that she already had a story conference for a soap where she’ll be playing the lead.

"I'm not feeling sad. I just feel na I'm glad to experience being a superhero. Para sa akin, hindi trabaho ‘yon. It's ano, more of an experience and learning experience as an actor. ‘Tsaka I'm excited for the viewers to see the last episode sa August 2," lahad ni John sa panayam sa kanya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

Mami-miss ba niya si Kapitan Boom?

"Yeah, well, it's an end of an era. Kumbaga, I‘m sure na may viewers would want to see Kapitan Boom again," ani Jon.

"It changed me, it made me realize na what's important as an artist of ABS-CBN, that relationships with yung mga cast is important. Working relationship is very important and kailangan professional ka. I enjoyed taping very much. So, I'm glad I could invest in relationships with mga artists, mga ganun, mga production staff."

"Well, tingnan natin. Pero maganda yung ideya na ‘yon. Okey ‘yon."

JON HAS MOVED ON.

"Ah, maybe. Okey lang sa akin. Oo naman."

May maramdaman kaya siyang kirot kapag nakasama niya sina Mariel at Zanjoe?

"Ah, wala na, wala na. Tapos na ‘yon. I'm happy they're happy."

Madali ba siyang naka-move on sa feelings niya for Mariel dati?

"Yes, oh, yeah. It was nice while it lasted. So, we all moved on, all of us."

What about him? May girlfriend na ba siya ngayon?

"Wala, trabaho lang ang priority ko. My love life siguro is may pang-apat na priority sa buhay ko. Una, trabaho. Second, would be my family. Third, would be my money, and fourth would be my love life."

Saan niya dinadala ang pera niya?

"How do I spend my money? I spend most of my money on my health. I go to the gym and keeping fit. So, health is wealth."

LIFE AFTER KAPITAN BOOM.

‘Tapos I'm hosting Shall We Dance with Lucy [Torres-Gomez] on TV5, kasama rin si Victor Basa."

How does it feel na host na siya at kasama pa niya si Lucy?

"It was great. I feel I'm being pushed to the top and it's a great honor to be beside them or even in the same sentences with Lucy Gomez. It's really, really nice."

Is this the first time na magho-host siya ng show?

"Yes, so it's also gonna be something na I can learn."

Happy ba siya na lumalawak na ang range niya as an artist?

"Yeah, definitely. I've always noticed the improvement in my life by hosting already."

I will be leaving with the Coverboys. We'll be having shows in the States. Pagbalik, taping ulit ng Shall We Dance. It's very exciting, Lucy's very nice."

Ano ang naging first impression niya the first time na nagkasama sila ni Lucy sa show?

"Medyo starstruck ako. Just being friendly. We're just friendly as co-host, as host."

This time, he is being paired with Rufa Mae Quinto.

"My first movie was an independent film titled Nars. Second was When Love Begins. This is my third at mas malaki. My role here is para siyang geek. I like it. It will improve my versatility as an actor. May stalker ako, may mga mannerisms na hindi, well, I don't have. It's totally different from my character."

"Yes, I mean, nag-shooting kami. First shooting day namin. She's nice to work with. Nakakatuwa siya. I'm really looking forward to the next shooting. Masaya and crush ko si Rufa since when I first arrived three years ago," ngiti ni Jon.

Young actress Maja Salvador denied reports that she is into a serious relationship with any of her suitors.

Recently rumors say ABS-CBN's Kapitan Boom Jon Avila is her boyfriend.

"It's not true. Jon and I even said, 'uy tayo na pala', she said.

Jon reportedly apologized to Maja if he misled people into thinking he and the actress are into a romantic relationship.

Maja also denied having a relationship with on-screen partner Rayver Cruz. She said the rumors may be based on being seen with Cruz on a lot of TV projects together.

Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) Season 1 scholar Chad Peralta was also rumored as her latest boyfriend.

She said Chad frequently texts her, asks her to out for dinner although she is not sure if it's a date because the singer Maja said only said dinner.

Chad, Maja said cooks delicious spaghetti, Maja's favorite food.

Maja used to be linked to Carlo Aquino, who was rumored to be her boyfriend.

But the actress expressed surprise. "How can it be? He hasn't even been my boyfriend," she said.

Though they used to text each other, the actress said they have not gotten into a serious relationship.

Maja said she has no communication with Carlo at this time and that she wants to focus her attention on her career first.

Body Talk with Jon Avila

Written on 1:14 PM by Blogtopia

Before televiewers got an upclose glimpse of Jon Avila inside Big Brother’s house, he was already attracting a lot of attention — especially from motorists and commuters — with his body beautiful from huge billboards all over the metropolis, endorsing, appropriately enough, Bench underwear.

“But I really dreamed to be an actor even when I was a little boy,” confessed Jon who is half-Irish (his father, Jonathan Mullally, is from London) and half-Filipino (his mother, Teresita dela Cruz, is from Bulacan). He has a sister (older than him). Both of them were born, raised and educated in London. “At St. Helen’s where I finished high school, I did drama for one year. I still have one year to go to finish a course in business, at the Chelmsford College.”

He speaks a good Tagalog and he never forgets to end a sentence with a “po.”

Asked how much of him is Filipino and how much is British, Jon said, “When I’m in England, I’m Filipino. When I’m here, I’m British. Hehehe. My sister and I had a nice upbringing. We lived in a quiet town in a rural area, at the outskirts of London.”

A little “issue” inside Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) has to be cleared: Did Mariel Rodriguez (his housemate) “spurn” Jon in favor of Zanjoe Marudo?

“No, she did not,” explained Jon who will soon be seen in the title role as Kapitan Boom in an ABS-CBN fantaserye with Brazilian model Mariana del Rio (who was romantically linked to Cesar Montano) and in the Star Cinema movie When Love Begins (final title), the first movie together of Aga Muhlach and Anne Curtis written and directed by Joey Javier Reyes. “I kind of backed out. It takes time for me to fall in love. I actually gave way to Zanjoe because I realized that there was something between them.”

Also an endorser of Century Tuna and Active White (the leading distributor of high-quality beauty and wellness products for men and women, with Nadine Samonte and athlete Rachelle Daquis as co-endorsers), Jon stands 6’1”, weighs 178 lbs., and wears medium-size shirt and size-11 shoes. He’s a Virgo (born Sept. 1, 1985).

What sort of diet do you have?

“I avoid carbohydrates as much as possible, but I do take rice and bread sometimes because too little carbo intake makes me weak and keeps my energy level low...keeps me in a low mood. Regularly, I follow a low-carb/high-protein diet.”

What kind of food do you avoid?

“Fatty foods and sweets. I stay away from sugar.”

And what kind of food do you prefer?

“Anything grilled. I love cereals; I have more than 10 boxes of cereals at home. My ref is stuffed full with soya milk.”

Do you take three square meals a day?

“Oh yes, I do. Small amounts. For breakfast, I take cereals and toast. For lunch, some ulam lang. For dinner, salads and more cereals.”

Snacks in-between?

“Yes. A small bar of chocolate.”

How much water do you take per day?

“Only three glasses a day. I should be taking more than that. I hydrate myself with energy drinks like Gatorade.”

What vitamins do you take?

“Active White L-Gluthathione capsules which have vitamin C.”

He will both surprise and shock people with his thunderous arrival this April. A superhero like no other, viewers will be amused by the mighty yet sometimes unlucky Kapitan Boom. Created by the father of Pinoy superheroes Mars Ravelo, ABS-CBN's Komiks introduces the freshest delight of the new generation—though far from being perfect, he has a heart of gold.

During the MYX Music Awards held last March 26 at the Meralco Theater, Jon Avila told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that he will playing a character whom he described as a "fumbling superhero."

"I'm playing Kapitan Boom, which is coming out on April 19, tuwing Sabado," says Jon in his characteristic English accent. "It's a fantaserye-comedy-love story all rolled into one. It's a very exciting project because I'm learning new abilities as an actor. Using the harness, fight scenes...it's a very exciting role for me."

When asked to name his leading lady, he gives two names of young actresses: Maja Salvador and Marianna del Rio, the Brazilian girl who is said to be the cause of the major fight between Cesar Montano and Sunshine Cruz.

Jon excitedly describes the special abilities of Kapitan Boom. "Watch me flying around, fighting crime... I have a super shield, a super boom. I have the ability to fly. I also have three more hidden powers."

Jon, dubbed as the English Stallion during his stint in Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2, is also a member of the ASAP Cover Boys Plus who performs regularly in the Sunday noontime show.

But the thing is mahirap i-memorize yung mga Tagalog lines. So, I'm more concentrating na on delivering the lines properly. My acting skills will take a bit... Well, my acting skills are there but the language barrier..."

The model-actor is trying his best though.

"I'm reading komiks. I'm reading tabloids, not on a regular basis. But minsan, hindi ko naintindihan what I'm reading. But it helps to read. My technique... actually, I got told by a studio director na to read komiks, 'tapos you record your voice in the mirror. That's one thing now I'm trying to do every night para I can learn the language.

"It takes practice. The best way it is to speak. Panay ako Tagalog nang Tagalog. I mean. I'm trying to speak my best Tagalog right now. I mean, every time I have a conversation, I practice it naman."

Jon Avila was hesitant at first to reveal his Valentine's date at the launching of the Friendster Fan Profile at Taguig City yesterday afternoon, January 23. But the former Pinoy Big Brother celebrity housemate has something planned for his special girl.

"I'm not sure. I'm thinking, I'm gonna cook. Siguro, in an intimate location," was his short answer.

But how does a heartthrob like Jon woo a girl?

"Sweet text. Just to let them know I'm thinking about them. You know, buy little gifts, you know, like small things, simple things. I appreciate the simple things," he said.

But when pressed if PBB host and ex-special guest housemate Mariel Rodriguez will be Jon's date for the special occasion, Jon hesitated.

"I wanted it to be her. We're still in the process of getting to know each other. It's fun. We're having fun," the 22-year-old model said.

"Everyone has their special someone in their life. I'm not really with anyone at this time." Jon said he is busy with his goal of making the transition from model to actor. "This what I wanted to do in the first place a few years ago. I mean, it's about time na."

Jon Avila evicted from "Pinoy Big Brother" Celebrity Edition 2

A few days before the Big Night of Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2, one of the five remaining celebrity housemates was sanctioned with forced eviction for trying to sabotage the nomination and eviction process.

Last Saturday, December 29, Big Brother instructed the five housemates—Jon Avila, Ruben Gonzaga, Will Devaughn, Riza Santos, and Gaby dela Merced—to choose the person whom they felt was the least deserving to be part of the Big Four. All the housemates dreaded this task and one by one, they refused to nominate someone because they felt that they all deserved to remain and be called the Big Five.

For the second time, Big Brother asked the housemates to choose the person whom they believe does not deserve to be part of the Big Four. While the housemates were talking, Jon asked them: "Should we boycott?" The English Outcast influenced his housemates to have a five-way-tie in the nomination for eviction when he said, "Is everyone thinking what I'm thinking? Five medallions are here, five people here."

This resulted in everyone having a medallion, even though there were those who would have voted differently if they did not agree to conspire with one another. When Big Brother asked Jon about his statement, the model admitted, "I wanted everyone to nominate each other."

It is stated in the PBB rulebook that "direct or indirect discussions about nominations outside the confession room is strictly forbidden." Because of the seriousness of this offense, Big Brother consulted with Endemol, the worldwide owner of the Big Brother reality show franchise, regarding the matter. Big Brother consultant Anuska Ban pointed out that the nomination process is sacred and no one is allowed to discuss it outside the confession room—which Jon violated by manipulating the celebrity housemates into voting for a five-way tie result.

During the January 2 episode of PBB Primetime Edition, Big Brother himself told the housemates that even if they are all emotionally bonded to each other, they must not forget that they entered into a competition that has rules and has an elimination process that they must go through.

It was then announced that Davao comedian Ruben Gonzaga, model-actor Will Devaughn, beauty queen Riza Santos, and race car driver Gaby dela Merced are included in the Big Four who will compete in the Big Night scheduled this weekend.

The 4th Big Placer will get P400,000; the 3rd Big Placer P600,000; and the 2nd Big Placer P1,000,000. Meanwhile, the Big Winner of PBB Celebrity Edition 2 will receive a Sony Bravia, a Goodah business franchise package, a condominium unit at Chateau Valenzuela, and two-million pesos.

Jon Avila, candidate for a Forced Eviction?

Big Brother was disappointed with his residents for they have failed to pass the test of "pagpapakatotoo" when he asked them last Saturday night who does not deserve among them to be in the Celebrity Big Four. As such, he asked them to review the Rule Book to remind them of what will happen when they refuse to follow the nomination process. But instead of learning from their error, they still conspired for a five-way-tie result when they were asked to nominate for the second time something which Jon instigated by influencing them with his statement: "Is everyone thinking what I'm thinking? Five medallions are here. And we're five here." This caused Big Brother's further silent treatment on them.

Then at last, Big Brother called Jon yesterday afternoon to question him about what he said. The gorgeous hunk explained how he didn't mean any disrespect to Kuya and he simply wanted the Celebrity Big Five to stick together. He didn't concur with Big Brother's query that he perpetuated it to protect himself. However, the latter still warned him that he violated a serious decree which prohibits any housemate to influence or sway their voting decisions during nominations. Jon was truly sorry and took full responsibility towards his actions. Nevertheless, he reiterated that Riza's is still his choice to become evicted since a lot of opportunities await her anyway.

Will came next in the hotseat where he felt terrible about joking around just to get laughs when the situation called for a serious reflection. But like Jon, his stand about picking Gaby to be listed for nomination remains the same for she had been in the outside world already. Riza also answered similarly about opting for Jon because he has a booming career to look forward to. Naturally, she refused to vote for Will since she's a lot closer to him.

On the other hand, Ruben and Gaby admitted that they intended to get equal votes for nomination to save the Celebrity Big Five. The comedian from Davao explained that as much as possible he didn't like to put anyone at risk. But if he did the right thing, he would have picked Riza instead of Will which was really questionable in the first place because they're the best of friends. On Gaby's part, she revealed that she was also thinking of what Jon voiced out then. And that she nominated her own bet for the Big Win for the same reason that Ruben presented. Though in truth, she would have voted Riza out for the latter failed to change her introvert ways.

After hearing their explanations, Big Brother eventually forgave their mistakes and allowed them to welcome the New Year with a bang. But as PBB Host Toni Gonzaga noted, Big Brother would still make Jon pay the price of his violation. As to the consequence of it, Kuya consulted with Endemol for the proper action be bestowed on Jon. Will his grave error lead to another forced eviction tomorrow night?
